Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Shiraz
Red Wine

Wine Spectator Notes : Tobacco and bay notes meld into a core of lightly steeped black cherry and black currant fruit. Petit Verdot, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Cabernet Franc. Drink now.

Robert Parker Notes : The 2013 Mountain Red is a blend of six different varieties, including 28% Petit Verdot, 27% Merlot, 25% Shiraz, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Grenache and 1% Cabernet Franc; the wine matured for 18 months in second and third fill barrels. It has a generous redcurrant and wild strawberry-scented nose, open and giving, with the oak subtle and nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied, soft and approachable in the mouth with grainy tannin, harmonious with a tertiary, tobacco-tinged finish.

Tasting Notes : Spicy aromas of black pepper and mulberry mingle with the plum flavours of this soft and approachable wine. Particularly good with light and medium flavoured meals, such as pizza and braai.
