Canaiolo, Colorino, Sangiovese
Red Wine
Soffocone di Vincigliata known as a "Big Suffocation" in Italian is made from a single vineyard which has constantly delivered exceptional grapes with unique characteristics and aromas. These are the reasons that pushed us to create this wine able to express a fascinating terroir in Fiesole. The vines are no older than 15 years and grown on soil composed of clay and galestro. The vineyard is south facing and average an elevation of 250 meters above sea level. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks and lasts 15-18 days. The wine is aged in French barriques for 16-18 months

Wine Spectator Notes : Cherry, herb and spice flavors are allied to an elegant frame in this supple-textured red. Needs air to open and find balance, lingering with fruit and spice accents on the finish. Best from 2017 through 2023. 2,500 cases made.

Tasting Notes : Hints of coffee, leather, and wild berries on the nose with a velvety, silky texture on the palate. This Italian red wine has very elegant tannins with a long and persistent finish. (Source :
