Red Wine
Jean Luc Thunevin became a "star" of the wine world in less than a decade thanks to his famous garage wine "Château Valandraud". The garagiste wine maker and one of the leading wine personalities from St. Emilion in Bordeaux became an inspiration and initiator of many other garage wines across the world. Jean Luc for his revolutionary ways and for defying all odds was called the "bad boy" and "black sheep" of Bordeaux from none other than this most influential critic of the wine world "Robert Parker". The comment was made in one of the reviews of his top bottling Chateau Valandraud which inspired him him to make a wine called "Bad Boy"

Wine Spectator Notes : Deliciously ripe and inviting, with a mix of blueberry, fig and plum fruit that bounces along, supported by light toast and tobacco shadings. Fruit and spice meld nicely on the lively finish, where a nice streak of chalk is well-embedded. Drink now through 2017.

Robert Parker Notes : The best wine under this moniker that Jean-Luc Thunevin has yet produced, his homage to himself is a delicious, fruit-forward sleeper of the vintage. This French red wine has oodles of black currants, kirsch, licorice and spice jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, surprisingly concentrated wine that leaves a substantial tactile impression on the palate. Drink it over the next several years. Bravo!

Tasting Notes : The 2009 Bad Boy is shows intense coffee bean, toasted bread and concentrated ripe fruit. Full bodied with soft and velvety tannings and a medium finish. Juicy wine in a flashy style. This is now called Mauvais Garcon, which means "bad boy" in French ~ James Suckling.
