Garnacha, Graciano, Tempranillo
Red Wine

Wine Spectator Notes : This supple red is balanced and focused, with restrained flavors of black cherry, tobacco and smoke. A bit austere, but has density. Drink now through 2022.

Robert Parker Notes : The 2012 Sela was released in March 2015, and it’s a great example of Sela. It opens to bright red fruit, more shiny than 2011, and is still pretty young showing faint lactic notes and more traces of the barrel that should be absorbed with time. 2012 could be fresher and more accessible. It’s an elegant and balanced wine, with some fine-grained tannins that will be polished with bottle age. The palate is very tasty and has almost salty flavors that are quite gentle and velvety. In 2012 Sela was a blend of Tempranillo with 3% Graciano and 1% Garnacha. 99,383 bottles were produced.

Tasting Notes : A wine with a medium-depth, vivid cherry colouring, against a red background with scarlet edging. Very agreeable, with a sensation of red fruits including fresh, well-ripened cherries, some strawberry notes and a hint of liquorice. The wood is imperceptible, even though the wine spent a year in second-use and third-use barrels. After the fruit a range of light floral notes develops, surrounding and enveloping the presence of cherries. Hints of sweet spices. Medium body, friendly, fresh, flavourful and exuberant. The tannin is highly polished, with a silky character. The red fruits move through the mouth to leave a sensation of freshness ans appoachability. A superb vintage which combines both maturity and freshness. The deep, persistend nature of this wine carries reminders of an excellent year among the vineyards of Haro. It communicates the controlled youthfulness of a vintage that has the potential to be Bodegas Roda's most "everyday" wine, while remaining true to the winery's philosophy and style.
