Red Wine

Wine Spectator Notes : Soft and forward, with cherry compote, raspberry and lightly toasted vanilla notes. Easygoing finish. Syrah, Mourvèdre and Viognier. Drink now.

Robert Parker Notes : The 2012 Wolftrap Red is a blend of 67% Syrah, 31% Mourvedre and 2% Viognier matured with oak staves. It has a simple but clean fresh bouquet with dark cherries and briery fruit. The palate is ripe and rounded on the entry with plump tannins and a svelte, commercially savvy finish. As usual, this is great value. Drink now-2015. For their price, Wolftrap is a no-brainer.

Tasting Notes : Ripe blackberries and spicy pepper flavours are met with a soft and supple palate. Good density with lingering flavours and a hint of oak. Unpretentious and easy drinking, this wine should be drunk within three years.
